Eyelash Extensions are individual synthetic strands of fibers that replicate a natural eyelash. They are used to: lengthen, thicken and/or add more of a curl to your own natural lashes. When I apply them, I have 1 pair of tweezers in each hand. I use one pair to isolate 1 lash at a time, and I use the other pair to pick up an extension, dip the end in adhesive, and then place on the isolated lash (see photo). This is repeated back and forth on each eye until the set is complete.
Please be sure to come in with no eye make-up on, and clean your eyelashes of all mascara and eyeliner residue, especially at the bases of the lashes. If you wear contacts, please remove them before you come and wear your glasses. Last, no caffeine for a few hours before so that your eyes are still, and you can relax or even doze off
Classic is one extension placed on one natural eyelash. Hybrid is a mixture of classic and volume lashes. Volume is created by making fans with a few super thin diameter extensions, and placing them on the natural lashes, mixed between the thicker classic extensions to fill in a little more
TIME. I keep my sets very simple because simple is easy, and I work pretty quickly. Some lash artists count their lashes, or charge for longer lashes, etc. I do not. A Full Set is 2 hours of me lashing. I place as many as I can within that 2 hours, typically every lash will have an extension on it. A 90 min set is in between a Full Set and Half Set, it is 90 min of me placing lashes. A Half Set is 1 hour of me lashing. A fill is 1 hour, and a 90 minute fill is just an option to give me more time to fill in more of your lashes.
I use an amazing adhesive that can withstand a lot, so with proper care, your extensions should last the length of the natural cycle of each eyelash. After a Half Set, typically you will need a fill in 2-3 weeks. After a Full Set you will typically need a fill in about 3-4 weeks. Again, the natural lash growth cycle, the way you sleep, your daily routine and the way you care for the extensions all play a part in the longevity of the extensions.
No. Eyelash curlers will bend and ruin the extensions, and wearing mascara will cause the bond between the natural lash and the extensions to dissolve, especially during the cleaning process.
Yes. BUT, you must make sure none of your make-up or make-up removers are oil based. Typically waterproof make-up and removers have oil in them. This oil will compromise the adhesive bond. Also be aware that because you have to clean the make-up off, the extensions may not last as long as they could.
In a perfect world, your lashes will stay dry, you will sleep on your back and you will never wear any eye make-up. In the REAL world, just try your best to do these things. Stay away from oil-based make-up/removers, try not to rub your eyes, and brush your lashes daily.
