Tooth Gems are gems that are bonded onto teeth for a subtle sparkle in your smile. I use Swarovski crystals for the best quality and sparkle.
Gems are bonded on with high quality dental materials, similar to the process of bonding on braces brackets. I was a license Dental Assistant for over 8 years, so I am well versed in the process, and did not just go through a 1 day training.
Applying tooth gems is a semi-permanent procedure and there is no guaranteed amount of time that the gems will remain on teeth. Factors that affect the longevity include: not following post-procedure instructions, oral hygiene and eating habits. The gems can come off in as little as a few weeks, and they can last as long as couple years.
If you do not regularly brush your teeth and maintain good oral hygiene and regular dental visits, enamel could become damaged and decalcified, as with braces brackets. If you maintain good oral health, once your gem falls off, your dentist can smooth out the tooth to get the bond off and you can get another gem, otherwise your tooth will be back to normal.
No. Tooth gems can only be bonded to natural teeth, no veneers, crowns/caps, dentures, partials, flippers, etc.
